Search Expands Role As Online's Ad Engine
In this industry, 'holiday traffic' doesn't mean getting stuck in gridlock on your trip to the mall. More and more consumers and turning to shopping online to avoid the last minute shopping rushes, giving grandma a fruitcake, or having to write your brother-in-law a check as a gift.
What does this mean to the online advertising community? As holiday season continues retail sites can expect an increase in traffic levels. Traditionally, holiday-focused sites on the Searchfeed.com network have seen a significant increase in traffic due to online holiday shopping by consumers. Partner websites can prepare for the holidays by making it easier for site visitors to access advertiser content related to holiday items.
"Archstone Consulting, anticipating the start of the 2004 holiday shopping season, forecasts that retailers will see a 3-5% overall increase in retail sales.
